My Health Care Experience with Dr. Sean Benham - May 15 2012

May 15th I had was concerned about my health. I am a male and had a mild hernia for about 2 years. I am self employed and do computer consulting and just a regular person in our area.Two days prior I had a little incident on a riding lawn mower and pulled my leg on the side of the hernia...After that I did not feel right. It just did not feel right at all. I was even thinking that maybe I mis-diagnosed myself and maybe had a cancer or something. So on May 15 2012 after I went to Patty Knox's Wake about 2:30 pm I stopped at Dr. Sean Benham's office located on Highway Q. I heard he was the best surgeon's for Hernia's in our Area. I was greeted by Carol Hoppe and scheduled in for 4:30 that day. They had me fill out the forms and when I told them that I was uninsured their attitude towards me changed. I sat there for a bit and waited and since it was only 3:00pm now and told them I will be back in 15 minutes and went to go get more credit cards since I have some with limits as high as 18K and knew this was my insurance. When I came back to the office Carol informed me Dr. Benham would not see me. I was in shock and told her my situation was kind of a emergency since I was panicking and she flat out told me "NO" I told her that I wanted the DR. just  to look at my injury and determine what it was and she was not interested anymore. I left and called back on the phone and told her I just wanted him to look and I would would pay today...She said Dr.Benham said NO again. I went to Holy Family walk in clinic and they saw me and the resident Dr. confirmed I had a hernia. They were so concerned they called the surgeon over from the Holy Family main hospital Dr. Campbell .He came over and pushed my intestine back in the hernia and bought me some time. The incident on the riding lawn mower had indeed caused a problem!
