Today Visit Manitowoc launched their brand-new website to the public – www.visitmanitowoc.com.

Upon creation of the official Destination Marketing Organization in early 2022, Visit Manitowoc began research, development and design, and content creation for the new website. The website translates Visit Manitowoc’s research-driven visual identity across each page to quickly showcase the essence of the Manitowoc community to potential visitors – one that’s fun, friendly, rooted in history and filled with Manitowoc’s lakeside energy. Created with both leisure travelers and group planners in mind, the website was constructed based off extensive data into how audiences were searching for the Manitowoc area, and with the increase in travelers researching and booking vacations on their cell phones, the site was built with a mobile-first design.

“Our website is our largest marketing tool, and with the launch of this new platform, we’re elevating the level with which we can promote the city of Manitowoc, a truly incredible and unique destination, to the world,” said Courtney Hansen, Visit Manitowoc’s Director of Tourism. “We are excited for visitors and residents alike to use visitmanitowoc.com to plan their next trip, check out upcoming events, and come back again and again to be inspired by the new content that’ll be added daily.”

The new website’s main navigation includes things to do, events, restaurants, places to stay and plan your visit tabs that feature business listings, recommendations, history, maps and more. The events section illustrates events happening in the Manitowoc area, sorting them by what’s occurring the upcoming weekend, annual events and festivals, live music, and local, community-centric happenings. Visitors can also view or sign up to receive a printed visitor guide, sign up for newsletters, and listen to podcast recordings, in addition to reading fun and original blog content. A secondary navigation menu is focused on planners interested in hosting a meeting or conference, group visit, sporting event or wedding in Manitowoc.

Visitors and residents are encouraged to view the new website at www.visitmanitowoc.com. In the coming weeks, Visit Manitowoc will open their website’s “extranet” which will allow business owners the ability to update their listings. Area event planners are encouraged to submit upcoming events through the “submit an event” tab on the new website. For questions and assistance regarding uploading event and business listings, please contact Courtney Hansen at chansen@manitowoc.org or (920) 686-3505.
