Attractions

With so many museums in the area and plenty of indoor fun for any time of the year, Manitowoc's attractions make it a premier tourist destination. The Wisconsin Maritime Museum is the largest of its kind in the Midwest, and will leave a lasting impression of people of all ages with tours of the USS Cobia, a WWII submarine.

The Rahr-West Art Museum has been named one of the "Best Places to See Art is a Small Town" by USA Today, and we couldn't agree more. You'll find works by Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol and even Georgia O'Keeffe, who was a Wisconsin resident herself.

Outdoor Recreation

Manitowoc's gorgeous shoreline and four distinct seasons make it a haven for outdoor enthusiasts. Most notably, Red Arrow Park is a large, dog-friendly beach perfect for a day spent under the sun, and Lighthouse Park is a smaller beach just north of downtown, allowing for a quick dip if you don't have all day to soak in the summer. To stay dry but take in the picturesque Great Lake, bike, walk or roll the Mariners Trail that runs along the coastline from Manitowoc to Two Rivers with gardens and sculptures along the way.

Disc golfers won't want to miss where the pros play. Silver Creek Park features a free 36-hole disc golf course that consistently hosts major tournaments and is known for its hilly terrain, woody areas and lookouts to Lake Michigan.
