Ahead of the busy summer travel season, Visit Manitowoc, the City’s official destination marketing organization, will join their peers across the state and country in celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week May 19-25. Throughout the week, Visit Manitowoc will be recognizing the impact the travel industry holds on the local economy, businesses and community.

At the May 20th Common Council meeting on Monday, Mayor Justin Nickels will present a proclamation declaring May 19-25 National Travel and Tourism Week in the City of Manitowoc.

The following morning, Tuesday, May 21st, Visit Manitowoc will host their annual Travel and Tourism Week breakfast at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum with area tourism partners. In addition to updates on local tourism data, Director of Tourism, Courtney Hansen, will be highlighting recent projects and upcoming initiatives including plans for the NFL Draft in April 2025.

“We’re excited to once again join in celebrating our thriving local tourism industry. On the heels of the start of S.S. Badger sailing season and ahead of Memorial Day weekend, we’re about to dive into Manitowoc’s busiest season and are looking forward to welcoming thousands of visitors to experience our can’t-miss summer events, new businesses and treasured Manitowoc favorites,” said Courtney Hansen. “This week we’d also like to give a special thanks to all of our front-line tourism employees who staff our hotels, boutiques, attractions and restaurants. They serve as the face of Manitowoc for so many visitors experiencing our community.”
