A full day of activities to celebrate Independence Day returns to Manitowoc’s river and lakefront on Thursday, July 4, 2024. Manitowoc’s Fourth on the Shore event includes a jam-packed schedule of live music, family-friendly activities, and food and drinks from The Wharf Manitowoc to The Yacht Club.
The day’s festivities kick off with the annual 4th of July Parade at 10:00 a.m. The route heads North on S. 8th Street and Washington Street, turns east on Maritime Drive, and finishes at the Manitowoc Yacht Club. Fourth on the Shore hot spots include live music at The Wharf Manitowoc, craft vendors and food in the YMCA parking lot, the Manitowoc Marina for kayak rentals and sidewalk sales, tours inside the Manitowoc Breakwater Lighthouse, and the Manitowoc Yacht Club, which will be open to the public.
The Wisconsin Maritime Museum’s SubFest is July 4-7 and occurs in conjunction with Fourth on the Shore. On the Fourth, admission is only $5, the USS Cobia will blow her whistle at noon, and there will be live entertainment, family-friendly activities, food trucks and drinks at the parking lots East and North of the museum. Veterans and active duty military can enjoy free admission all weekend long.
Fourth on the Shore concludes with the spectacular Festival Foods Fireworks Show at 9:30 p.m. over Lake Michigan.
