Wondering where to see Santa Claus in Manitowoc this year? From festive trolley rides to holiday parades, there are plenty of Santa events to explore without flying to the North Pole. Here’s where to go to make this holiday season the best one yet.
Lakeshore Holiday Parade
The holiday season really kicks off in Manitowoc on Thanksgiving Eve at the Lakeshore Holiday Parade — a big, jolly block party with all the trimmings. Little ones will marvel at the festive floats and dance to the rhythm of the marching bands as they roll through town, topped off by the grand appearance of Santa Claus himself! Want to visit with Santa up close? He hangs out before and after the parade each year at the Rahr-West Art Museum. Kiddos can drop by this free event any time between 4:30 and 6 p.m. to say hi to the Big Guy and grab some tasty holiday treats. While you’re there, explore the museum’s breathtaking Christmas in the Mansion exhibit.
Lights in Lincoln Park
On Friday nights from November 29 to December 27, kids can meet Santa at Lights in Lincoln Park! Head to Cabin One for hot cocoa, cookies and pictures with the Big Guy himself. Then, make the night even brighter by cruising through the magical light displays. The little ones will love exploring over 70 animal scenes and light tunnels as they bask in the glow of their recent visit with Santa.
While Santa is only available on Friday nights — he’s very busy this time of year — the entire family can enjoy Lights in Lincoln Park between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. As Christmas Day grows closer, the lights will shine every night from December 12 to December 27. Admission for the light show is a $5 donation per vehicle or $5 per person/$10 per family for the fun walks, which happen on November 26, December 4, December 11, and December 28. Proceeds benefit the Manitowoc Lincoln Park Zoo.
Magical Trolley Ride
Kids will love every moment of being whisked away to the North Pole aboard the Magical Trolley Ride on December 7! Don your favorite Christmas pajamas, and board the heated trolley at your chosen time slot between 12:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The kids can sing carols with the friendliest conductors you’ll ever meet as they watch their holiday adventure unfold. When they finally arrive at the North Pole (aka The Inn at Maritime Bay), Santa and Mrs. Claus will be waiting with festive games, tasty treats and an extra-special photo op just for them. Tickets are $30 for kids and $35 for adults, with all proceeds going to CASA of East Central Wisconsin.
Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center
If your little ones love animals, the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center’s Breakfast at the North Pole is a must! On December 7, from 9 a.m. to noon, Santa, Mrs. Claus, and a few reindeer buddies will be there to say good morning over pancakes and cocoa. Kids will enjoy making holiday crafts, chatting with Santa and soaking up all the Christmas magic. Tickets are $14 for children and $29 for adults, with free entry for tiny elves aged 0-2.
Pinecrest Historical Village
Ready for a dash of holiday history? Take a step back in time at Pinecrest Historical Village on December 13-14, where kids can experience Christmas as it was in the early 1900s. Stroll through the festively decorated homes and businesses in this living history museum, all aglow with period charm. Help the little ones keep an eye out for Santa, who will be roaming the grounds for classic Santa Claus pictures from 4 to 8 p.m. on the 13th and noon and 6 p.m. on the 14th. Don’t forget to bring your camera (or your best vintage filter). Tickets are $14 for adults, $13 for seniors, and $10 for kids 4-17. Members and little ones under 4 get in free.
Santa Claus Magic at Home
Can’t make it to see Santa in person? USPS has you covered with Operation Santa. Kids can write their letters and send them to 123 Elf Road, North Pole, 88888, by December 9. With a bit of holiday luck, an anonymous “elf” might adopt the letter and send a gift straight from Santa. Check out the USPS Operation Santa website for all the details — it’s like having Santa on speed dial.
Whether the kiddos are wondering where to see Santa for a quick meet-and-greet or looking for an all-day extravaganza, there are plenty of ways to get your fill of Christmas magic in Manitowoc!
